AutoCount Racking Management System Plugin — Warehouse Bin Location Control for AutoCount

AutoCount Racking Management System Plugin is an AutoCount Accounting add-on that introduces bin-level location control to your warehouse operations within AutoCount. Define your physical rack structures with up to 4 hierarchical levels — Area, Row, Level, and Shelf — and assign bin locations to every stock movement. The plugin enforces bin control across all purchase, sales, and stock transactions — when items enter or leave the warehouse, the system records which exact bin location they're stored in or picked from. Track stock balances by location and bin, generate stock card reports with bin positions, and transfer inventory between bin-controlled and non-bin locations. Designed for Malaysian warehouses, distribution centres, and any business that needs to know not just what's in stock, but exactly where it is.

Why AutoCount Racking Management System Plugin?

AutoCount Accounting's Multi-Location module tracks inventory across different warehouses or branches — but within each location, there's no visibility into where items are physically stored. A warehouse with 500 rack positions knows it has 200 units of Product A "in warehouse" — but not whether those 200 units are on Rack B, Level 3, Shelf 2 or scattered across 15 different positions. Warehouse staff waste time searching for items during picking, stock takes are inaccurate because items aren't where they're expected, and space utilisation is poor because there's no system to manage rack assignments. The Racking Management System Plugin solves this by adding bin-level granularity inside each location — every item has a specific bin address, and every stock movement records that address.

AutoCount Racking Management System Plugin Key Features

Rack Structure Configuration (Up to 4 Levels)

Define your warehouse's physical rack structure with up to 4 hierarchical levels. A typical setup might be: Level 1 = Zone/Area (A, B, C), Level 2 = Row (01, 02, 03), Level 3 = Level/Height (Ground, Mid, Top), Level 4 = Shelf/Position (Left, Centre, Right). The plugin generates bin codes from these levels — creating addresses like "A-03-Mid-L" that pinpoint the exact physical location. Configure the hierarchy to match your actual warehouse layout — not every warehouse needs 4 levels; use 2 or 3 if that's your reality.

Bin Location Management

Create, view, edit, and deactivate bin locations per warehouse. Generate bins by location in batch — the plugin creates all bin combinations from your defined levels automatically. Set bin location properties — maximum capacity, weight limits, item restrictions, or bin type (bulk storage, pick face, cold storage). Deactivate bins that are temporarily unavailable without deleting them from the system.

Bin Control on Purchase Transactions

The plugin enforces bin location recording on all purchase-related transactions — Goods Received Note, Purchase Invoice, Goods Return, and Purchase Return. When stock arrives at the warehouse, the receiving staff must specify which bin location the items are being put away into. No goods enter the warehouse without a bin assignment. This ensures incoming stock has a known location from the moment it arrives.

Bin Control on Sales Transactions

Bin control applies to all sales-related transactions — Delivery Order, Sales Invoice, Delivery Return, and Sales Return. When picking items for delivery, the system shows which bins contain the required items and the picker records which bins they picked from. Stock is deducted from the specific bin — not just the general warehouse balance. Returns are received back into a designated bin.

Bin Control on Stock Documents

Stock Adjustments, Stock Transfers, Stock Receives, and Stock Issues all require bin location specification. When adjusting stock — adding or removing quantities — the adjustment is applied to a specific bin. When transferring between locations, the source bin and destination bin are recorded. Complete bin-level traceability across every type of stock movement.

Stock Balance by Location and Bin

View stock balances at the bin level — not just by warehouse, but by exact rack position within the warehouse. See that Bin A-03-Mid-L holds 50 units of Product X, Bin B-01-Ground-R holds 120 units, and Bin C-02-Top-L holds 30 units. The system prompts a stock balance discrepancy alert if the quantity in a transaction doesn't tally with the bin's recorded balance — catching errors before they're posted.

Stock Card with Bin Location Report

Generate stock card reports that include bin location data — showing every movement in and out of each bin. Track the full history of a specific bin position: what went in, what came out, when, and in which document. This is the bin-level audit trail that standard stock card reports cannot provide.

Multiple Location Transfers (Bin to Non-Bin)

Transfer stock between bin-controlled locations and non-bin locations — and vice versa. Not every location in your business may use racking. A main warehouse may be bin-controlled while a retail showroom is not. The plugin handles transfers between these different location types — recording bin details on the bin-controlled side and general location on the non-bin side.

Barcode & RFID Support

The plugin supports barcode scanning and RFID technology for accurate bin-level item tracking. Scan a bin barcode to confirm the put-away location during receiving. Scan the bin during picking to verify the correct location. Barcode and RFID integration reduces human errors in bin recording — the system confirms the physical location matches the recorded location.

Who Should Buy AutoCount Racking Management System Plugin?

Warehouses & Distribution Centres

Large warehouses with hundreds or thousands of rack positions storing diverse products. Without bin control, warehouse staff rely on memory or paper labels to find items — leading to wasted picking time, misplaced stock, and inaccurate stock takes. The plugin gives every item a system-recorded address.

Wholesale & Trading Companies

Wholesalers managing high-SKU inventories across multi-level racking systems. Knowing that Item A is "in the warehouse" is not enough when the warehouse has 1,000 rack positions. The plugin tells the picker exactly where to go — Area B, Row 5, Level 2, Shelf 3.

Manufacturing Warehouses

Factories managing raw material warehouses, work-in-progress staging areas, and finished goods storage. Different materials in different bins — the plugin tracks which raw materials are in which rack position, which finished goods are stored where, and which staging area holds WIP.

Cold Chain & Perishable Goods Storage

Cold storage facilities and perishable goods warehouses where bin location determines storage conditions — freezer zone, chiller zone, ambient zone. The plugin tracks which bin zone each item is stored in, ensuring temperature-sensitive products are in the correct storage environment.

E-Commerce Fulfilment Centres

Pick-and-pack operations processing high volumes of individual orders. Efficient picking depends on knowing the exact bin location of every item. The plugin integrates with AutoCount's sales and stock modules to guide pickers to the correct bin for each order line.

Businesses Conducting Bin-Level Stock Takes

Any business that needs to verify physical stock by bin position — not just by warehouse total. The plugin's bin-level balance reporting enables precise stock take verification: count what's in Bin A-03 and compare against the system's recorded balance for that bin.

Racking Management System vs Multi-Location Module

AutoCount's built-in Multi-Location module (available in Pro and Premium) tracks stock by warehouse or branch — Warehouse A has 500 units, Warehouse B has 300 units. The Racking Management System Plugin adds bin-level control within each location — Warehouse A, Bin A-03-Mid-L has 50 units, Bin B-01-Ground-R has 120 units. Multi-Location tells you which warehouse. Racking tells you which shelf within that warehouse. If you only need to know stock per warehouse, Multi-Location is sufficient. If you need to know exactly where within the warehouse, you need the Racking Management System Plugin.
