AutoCount Report Customisation — Custom Reports Built for Your Business in Malaysia
AutoCount report customisation is a technical report development service for Malaysian SMEs that need AutoCount reports beyond what the default layouts provide. We build custom reports inside AutoCount Report Designer using scripting, formulas, conditional logic, UDF field integration, and MSSQL database queries — pulling any data from your AutoCount system and presenting it in the exact format your business operations or management requires. This is not a simple layout adjustment or logo change. This is technical report engineering — writing scripts and SQL queries that extract, calculate, and display the data you need from your live AutoCount database. From RM250 per report.
Why AutoCount Report Customisation?
AutoCount Accounting comes with a comprehensive set of standard reports — sales reports, purchase reports, stock reports, financial statements, aging reports, and more. But every business has unique reporting needs that standard reports don't cover. Your management wants a profit margin breakdown per item per customer. Your operations team needs a custom collection report showing aging buckets with follow-up status. Your finance director wants a management summary that combines data from sales, purchasing, and inventory tables into one consolidated view. Standard reports can't do this because they pull from fixed data sources with fixed layouts. Custom report development unlocks the full depth of your AutoCount MSSQL database — any data that exists in your system can be pulled, calculated, and displayed in a report.
What We Customise
Technical Approach — How We Build Custom Reports
Tagging & Single Value Retrieval
AutoCount Report Designer supports field tagging — pulling specific data values into report fields using tag expressions. For single value retrieval, we use tags to fetch one specific piece of data from the database — a customer's credit limit, a document's approval status, a UDF field value, or any single data point that needs to appear in a header, footer, or calculated field. Tagging is the simplest and fastest method for adding individual data points to reports without writing full SQL queries.
Execute Scalar — SQL Single Value Queries
When tagging alone cannot retrieve the data you need — because the value requires a calculation, a join across tables, or a conditional lookup — we use Execute Scalar. This runs a SQL query that returns a single value from the AutoCount MSSQL database directly into a report field. Examples: total outstanding balance for a specific debtor, count of overdue invoices, last payment date, or a computed margin percentage. Execute Scalar bridges the gap between simple tagging and full dataset queries — one precise value pulled from any depth of your database.
C# Scripting — When Built-In Tools Are Not Enough
For complex report logic that tagging and Execute Scalar cannot handle — multi-step calculations, conditional loops, data transformation, string manipulation, cross-referencing multiple query results, or custom business logic — we write C# scripts inside AutoCount Report Designer. C# scripting gives us full programming capability within the report engine. Format a Malaysian IC number into a specific display pattern. Calculate tiered commission rates based on cumulative sales thresholds. Build dynamic row visibility based on multiple conditions. Generate running totals with reset logic per group. If the logic can be described, C# scripting can implement it.
Full SQL Queries — Multi-Row Dataset Pulls
For report sections that need to display multiple rows of data from the database — transaction listings, item breakdowns, multi-period comparisons — we write full SQL SELECT queries that pull datasets from any combination of AutoCount tables. Join sales data with stock data with debtor data. Filter by date range, location, salesman, or any field. Aggregate, group, and sort at the database level for optimal performance. The SQL query feeds the report's data source — AutoCount Report Designer renders the results in your specified layout.
UDF Field Integration in Reports
AutoCount's User Defined Fields (UDFs) let you add custom data to debtors, creditors, stock items, and sales/purchase documents. But standard reports often don't display these UDF fields. We write the scripting and SQL queries to pull UDF data from Creditor, Debtor, Stock, or Transaction tables and display them in your reports and print layouts. Any UDF field you've created can appear on any report.
Custom Calculations — Profit, Margin, Costing
Standard sales reports show revenue. But your business needs to see profit per document, margin per item, or cost breakdown per transaction. We build the calculation logic inside the report — pulling cost data, computing margin percentages, and displaying profitability analysis directly in the report. No manual Excel post-processing needed.
Multi-Table Data Pulls
Standard reports pull from one or two tables. Custom reports can pull from any table in the AutoCount MSSQL database — combining sales data with stock data, linking debtor information with payment history, merging purchase records with creditor details. Management summaries that consolidate multiple data sources into one report are built using SQL queries that join across tables.
Batch, Serial, Location & Costing Details
Pull batch numbers, serial numbers, warehouse locations, and detailed costing information into reports that don't display them by default. A delivery order report showing batch numbers per line item. A stock valuation report breaking down cost by location. An invoice showing serial numbers for warranty tracking. All built through custom SQL data pulls.
Custom Collection & Aging Reports
Build collection reports with aging breakdowns, follow-up status, last payment date, and contact details — tailored to your credit control team's workflow. Add conditional logic to highlight overdue accounts, flag high-risk debtors, or colour-code aging buckets for visual prioritisation.
Conditional Logic & Formatting
Add conditional rules to reports — highlight rows where amounts exceed a threshold, show warning colours for overdue items, display different text based on document status, or hide sections when data is empty. Conditional logic turns static reports into actionable management tools.
CP58 Payout Listings
Generate CP58 payout listings from payment data in AutoCount. Malaysian businesses that make payments to agents, dealers, or distributors need CP58 forms for LHDN reporting. We extract the payment data from AutoCount's AP and GL modules and format it into CP58-compliant listings.
BOM Cost Breakdown
Pull Bill of Materials data from AutoCount's Stock Assembly tables and display component-level cost breakdowns in reports. Manufacturers can see the material cost, labour allocation, and overhead per finished good — directly from AutoCount's production data.
Print Layout Customisation
Customise the printed output of invoices, delivery orders, quotations, purchase orders, and any AutoCount document. Add fields that don't appear by default, rearrange sections, include UDF data, show calculations, or redesign the layout to match your company's document standards.
How It Works
1. Tell Us What You Need
Describe the report or print layout you need — what data should appear, what calculations are required, how the output should be formatted, and who will use it. Provide a sample layout or sketch if available. The more specific your requirements, the more accurate the delivered report.
2. We Build the Report
Our team writes the report logic using AutoCount Report Designer — scripting, formulas, SQL queries, and conditional formatting. All data is pulled live from your AutoCount MSSQL database. We test the report against your data to ensure accuracy.
3. We Deploy to Your System
The completed custom report is installed in your AutoCount system. We walk you through how to run the report, what parameters to set, and how to interpret the output. The report runs on live data — every time you generate it, the numbers are current.
Who Needs AutoCount Report Customisation?
Businesses with UDF Fields Not Showing in Reports
If you've added custom UDF fields to your debtors, creditors, items, or documents — but can't see them in standard reports or print layouts — custom report development adds them.
Management Needing Profit & Margin Analysis
Business owners and finance managers who need profitability reports that standard AutoCount reports don't provide — profit per item, margin per customer, costing per document.
Operations Teams Needing Custom Workflow Reports
Warehouse managers needing stock reports with batch and location details. Sales managers needing collection reports with aging and follow-up status. Procurement teams needing supplier analysis with cost comparison across periods.
Manufacturers Needing Production Cost Reports
Manufacturing businesses that need BOM cost breakdowns, production costing summaries, and material usage analysis built from Stock Assembly data.
Accounting Firms Needing Client-Specific Reports
Firms preparing custom management reports for clients — tailored to each client's industry, reporting requirements, and management preferences.
Any Business Where Standard Reports Don't Answer the Question
If you find yourself exporting AutoCount data to Excel and building reports manually every month — that report can be built inside AutoCount as a custom report that generates automatically from live data. Stop the monthly Excel exercise and invest in a one-time custom report build.
Pricing
From RM250 per report. Final pricing depends on report complexity — simple UDF additions and layout changes are at the base rate. Complex multi-table SQL queries, conditional logic, and management dashboards may be quoted separately based on requirements.
